 MonoPrice.com and getting a cable

Since many in here seems to get their cables from MonoPrice.com I figured I'd give them a try.

I need a couple of HDMI cables for my HD cable box and a bluray player and I was thinking of getting either ...
#4965 HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified CL2 Rated (In-Wall Installation) Cable (24AWG) w/ Net Jacket - 4ft (Gold Plated Connectors)
or
#4956 HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Cable 28AWG - 4ft w/Ferrite Cores (Gold Plated Connectors)

I'm guessing the 24AWG is thicker?

Is this what a lot of you guys get?

Do they charge for shipping?

4ft is really short, so I would go with one of these:

HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Cable 28AWG - 6ft w/Ferrite Cores (Gold Plated Connectors) - BLACK

HDMI 1.3a Category 2 Certified Cable 28AWG - 10ft w/Ferrite Cores (Gold Plated Connectors) - BLACK

Well my TV is literally right above my components. I don't see the need for extra cable to be flopping around. They do make 5' ones too.

But why did you pick the 28AWG with the ferrite cores over the thicker shielded ones without the cores? My first thought would be that the thicker 24AWG shielded would be better and less obtrusive without those magnets hanging around on the ends. Just curious.

I would get at least the 6ft cable. I had a similar setup but it was difficult to pull out my receiver because there was hardly any slack. The reason I chose the thinner cable is that's the normal size, anything thicker is designed for in-wall installation.

Got it. Thanks. As a matter of fact I just measured the temporary one I am using right now and it is 6'. For some reason I thought it was shorter. There is a little extra but not much.
Thanks.

After doing some reading it seems like some like the thicker cable with the extra shielding and some prefer the thinner with the ferrite cores.

Aside from flexibility of the wire itself does anyone have any preferences or reasons why one would be better than the other?
