The LD service should be active in 3 business days. If you are also getting home phone, then the LD completes for the same day as the phone install.

Anon, can you please post your info in the direct forum so we can look into this for you... Or you can call our support team at 1-877-357-2889.

Regards,
Andre

That's not saying that you are without phone for 10 days is it? It's just that the change will be done within 10 days... right?

Oh no! I just signed up for a new installation today on your website. I'm dropping Rogers because I'm moving to an area they don't service, in a different area code (so no way to port my number). Does that mean I'll be without home phone service until June 30?

said by BarterFrost See ProfileSure, Teksavvy has to pay Bell as a reseller, but at least the profit from the service will be supporting Teksavvy (and not the monopoly).

And yes, according to the BCE Tariff website, it is item 109 in the general tariff.

Because it's a non-regulated service, it costs a heck of a lot of money.

On the business side, there is AIS, accelerated installation service, item 106.

These take so long because they are not flow-through. The business process looks something like this in the legacy world:
-Client calls TSI
-TSI submits order to Bell
-Bell wholesale receives order in it's work queue.
-It processes the request, probably in two application, one to bill the client and one to have the downstream mechanized work orders created.
-The master legacy MWO generates sub tasks for each different team involved: 1 to the DMS programming queue (who receives it, checks it, and sets it to be completed on the due date), 1 to the provisioning group, which determines which pairs will interconnect where between customer and CO (cross-connect field work order), one to the CO frame (to interconnect the inbound pair to a splitter and from the splitter to DMS and DSLAM. Finally, if necessary, a field tech visit to the home is loaded into the job calendar for home/smb field techs.

I can't wait for the day when much of this gets taken out by automating everything but the physical interconnections, freeing up resources to improve networks and customer service both to retail and wholesale customers. Doing bulk daily crossconnect work done by a dedicated team would also reduce record errors which cause lots of issues.

*There is 1-touch instant features and number provisioning with two Bell services AFAIK, Digital IP Voice the VoIP product and with Mobility.

As far as I have seen, these are pretty common times across the board. I know that when I do an order for to bring a rogers digital number (clec) to a bell line the required due date is the same 10 bus days. I was told that this was because of some crtc regs... as to how accurate i cannot say, I can check in our reference manual tomorrow.

note... thats for the convertion between companies, from say rogers to bell, or bell to teksavvy.

The rest of the times... well that's really quite crazy

A feature change or phone number change should take 12 hours
A name display change 12 hours as well
A directory change should take 4 days
A move order, typically 2-5 days depending on the facilities at the new location

Even granting the time that it takes for Teksavvy to send the order to the carrier services group at bell, then the time for them to sit around and work on the order... it should not take nearly that long...

Not much you can do though

I just switched from Bell to Teksavvy for home phone a few hours ago. The representative said that even though it would take 10 days to change, I shouldn't notice any downtime.

Even if I was down for the whole time, I wouldn't care.

Now I've switched phone and internet to Teksavvy, Bell will never see another dime from me again. Sure, Teksavvy has to pay Bell as a reseller, but at least the profit from the service will be supporting Teksavvy (and not the monopoly).

Pretty messed that half the stuff listed I can sell to Bell clients through Bell World stores in 2 business days, including Saturdays, with the free installation options.

And yes...for those of you asking...
Bell does use digital switching technology.

and yes... it takes 10 business days for them to click a link in their web portal.

Some will argue that "there's a lot of work that needs to be done" and yes.. that is true for -some- lines.

Personally, don't understand why businesses can't just push things forward instead of holding things back.. I mean.. I know it all comes down to the almighty dollar....

Anyway!

This option has not been extended to TSI as of yet, therefore, we are stuck with the 10 days.
