| nifty! Very cool they finally put netflix on. REALLY wish this were possible for "silver" level users, and I don't see why one must have their paid membership to access what I'm already paying for - that seems like a total scam.
Because of this, I may not even bother with netflix via the xbox. Convenience factor sounds neat, but you still have to pick movies from a regular computer, right???
I have a perfectly good laptop that has video output. It may be a better choice for me to just use that. I've done it before, and it works decently well...
If they can't/won't make this an option for "silver" level, I think that's sad. Was really hoping they might change their minds closer to release, but I guess not.
Either way, it'd be nice if there were also a better selection. The studios need to realize that this is the future... |
jmn1207Premium join:2000-07-19 Ashburn, VA | I think the whole point is to try and get more Gold subscribers and Xbox 360 owners, not just get existing Gold members to purchase a Netflix subscription. Only about 50% of the ~10 million Xbox 360 owners are currently Gold members.
I'm sure with Reed Hastings, the founder/CEO of Netflix, sitting as one of Microsoft's board of directors, they worked out a sweet deal that will squeeze the maximum amount of money from everyone. |
