PC Magazine ends print version - online only now

»tech.yahoo.com/news/afp/20081119···magazine
PC Magazine, which has documented the explosive growth of the personal computer since 1982, announced on Wednesday that it was dropping its print edition next year and going online only.

PC Magazine publisher Ziff Davis Media, which recently exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy, said in a statement that the final edition of the iconic magazine would be the January 2009 issue.

Ziff Davis said PC Magazine, which has suffered a steep drop in advertising as scores of competing publications cropped up on the Internet, will go "all-digital" at PCMag.com.
I had a subscription to PC Magazine back in the 80's and until recently still had old copies sitting on a shelf in my library. Looks like magazines are going to be all online pretty soon. Or will be available in portable form on things like the Kindle.

Re: PC Magazine ends print version - online only now

I have a few issues as well. Most of the magazines that I get today are electronically delivered (Zinio). It's just easier and you don't have the mess on the coffee table or magazine rack.

Anyone remember back in the '80's to mid '90's when Computer Shopper was 800 to 1000 pages and weight 5 to 10 pounds per issue? LOL. New print version is hardly 100 pages.

Ah, the good old days of print...

I currently have about 10 years of PC mag myself. I enjoy print versions versus electronic, so who know if I will continue reading.
