| reply to GOLFnSUN Re: RIAA gets Tennessee schools to police music piracy
said by GOLFnSUN : A trend is developing - schools in more and more states are required to police their networks. This sort of thing has been happening for a long time.
1) Federal taxes collected from citizens, taking money out of the local economy. 2) Money flows to Washington 3) Washington takes its cut off the top. 4) Feel good legislation enacted putting strings on payout. 5) Local entities spend time writing Grants and complying with feel good restrictions to get some of the money back.
There are lots of things that can only be done by the Federal Government. However wherever possible the shorter the distance between tax collection and use the better.
