 Copy Protection

i recently tried to copy a legally purchased dvd to my hard drive. when i tried to playback the picture and sound were broken add jittery. when i explore the dvd my icons in the video ts file have changed appearance.

i tried to play the dvd on my second computer, the icons were normal and the dvd played fine. when i tried to copy onto my second computers h-drive, i ended up with the same result changed icons and jittery picture & sound.

i installed dvd43 4.4.0.0 on my first computer, icons returned to normal when exploring dvd, but still jittery picture & sound with media player & power dvd.

please help.

What did you use to rip the DVD?
How are you trying to play it.

DVDFab Decrypter will rip DVDs great - FREE too!

I prefer Magic DVD Copier myself - pay though.

Main movie, Full disc, Custom...

AnyDVD will do a good job as well as destroying DRM/Copy Protection.

I use PowerDVD or ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre for playback.

Do you only have trouble with playback of the ripped files or also with the original DVD? What exactly are you playing back, the files ripped to your HDD? Sounds like a codec/player issue.

Just to mention...DVDDcryptor software has ended its lifetime over a year ago....thus, not able to update copy porotection on any discs after using newer protection schemes.
DVDShrink also has ended.

I use AnyDVD and DVDFab Platinum. DVDFab has a free decryptor only available.

 DVD Decrypter

DVD Decrypter STILL works like a champ on most 99.9% of DVD's...

Yes as long as they are not new Sony movies (like Hancock)or Disney movies.

I guess there is something wrong with my DVD decrypter when I tried it on Hancock it did not work. I will check it out. I have started using Anydvd now anyways.

Re: Copy Protection

Try it with Ripit4me 1.7.0, use the psl file, and go past the 'You must have dirt on the DVD' warning. Problema? Que problema?

(edit - this info is for experimental purposes relating to security measures only!)

I cant see how DVDDecryptor still works when it hasn't been updated for copy protection for almost 2rs now...make no sense to Ironwalker.

For the record...anydvd and dvdfab is so good with updates I purchased the product when they both came out and I am good for life.
I believe dvdfab can still be purchased with lifetime updates but need to hurry as they are going to stop that.

edit #2;
Also, If you have full nero installed, nero recode will work too.....I am almost positive, but, I never used it. This is where DVDShrink and DVDDecryptor authors went, with Nero, so I am told.

Sorry, but Nero Recode doesn't remove copy protection. DVDD works with the 'keys' that are in place, and very well at that. And you are correct, both authors went to work for Nero.
