CRC Errors on Trunk

I have a switch to swich connection and frequently I see CRC errors on the Trunk ports between the two switches. I was told by a friend this indicates a bad or dirty fiber cable. I've searched online but I do not see any information confirming this. Is this true and/or are there other causes for crc errors on a trunk port?

That's correct.

Keep in mind that faulty interface can generate CRC errors as well.

if the fiber cable is dirty.. I'd put it in the dishwasher and steam wash it...

replace cable and test, that should be your 1st line of attack. next is replace the GBIC/SFP next is try another port. next replace both switches

What should the duplex settings be? Are you referring to the duplex settings between the two trunk ports. I believe they are set to Full Duplex.
