Best DTV converters? Digital audio out?

I just received my $40.coupon for a DTV converter and I'm looking for one with ether TOS link or coaxial output. The web seems to be of no help. Any ideas? Thanks.

You won't find those features on the lower-end converters that are eligible for the coupon, sorry. The coupons can only be used on certain units, and all of them are near the bottom of the respective manufacturers' lines.

You'll find a list of eligible units here: »https://www.ntiadtv.gov/cecb_list.cfm

Note: The quote below would also seem to cover advanced features, such as digital audio output, I'm 99.9% sure. From the US Government's FAQ...

Question
Can coupons be used toward the price of an upgraded converter box (for example, a box that includes a DVR)?

Answer
No. Coupons are only valid for eligible converter boxes. The intent of the program is to allow consumers to continue to view TV over-the-air on the same TV they used prior to the transition, not to enable upgrades in technology.

Thanks. Leave it to our government to screw it up. I was hoping to get locals in digital audio. I'm mainly using it for backup to cable so I'll be able to live without digital audio. So now I need to find witch has the best reception. This city is a reception black hole. I live in an apartment and was thinking of hanging a yagi on the ceiling.

Just wish I could afford a new HDTV!

Screw it up? You were asking for something that was beyond the stated goal.

The Centronics ZAT-502 has digital audio out but it is not coupon eligible.

The Zenith DTT901 and the Insignia box have the best tuners of the coupon boxes.

Thanks for the reply. I might get one of the better rated gov coupon approved units to see if I have decent reception first and if I do I'll get the Centronics unit. It's looks good for the money.
