This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Fast read speed.
Cons: Device has issues with random write speed.
Other Thoughts: Go for X25-M or X25-E
Manufacturer Response:Hello, we encourage potential customers to research this product and insure that it will fill their needs. These MLC based drives have extremely fast reads, and if you need a drive with fast sequential (frequent) writes, please check into our SLC based SATA II drive series.
Thank you
Bird has no clue here.

What is an "MLC", what are "fast sequential writes" and what software does them?

Also, what is/are "SLC(s)based SATA II drives" (in particular, what is a 'SLC.'), and what are the "X25-M" and "X25-E" please?

Sorry to be such the n00b, but this is such geek jargon for a fishy avian like me. Thanks, Ugly
