Re: Is a 600W PS big enough for two 8800GTS cards?

While we're on the topic of the OCZ stealthXstream's power capabilities... could it run a 9800GTX+? I'm just wondering because although its combined amperage rating is 72 (18 amps per 12V rail), all of its PCIe connectors are on one of the +12V 18amp rails. The card mentioned requires 26 I think, which the PSU can achieve if the amps combine. I'm really confused here.

Sorry if this hijacks your topic, but I think this will answer questions for both of us.

The combined max. output for +12V is 48A for that PSU. If you look at the PSU label, it indicates 580W for four +12V "rails."

No card in the world requires 26A. That would be more than 300W. Wherever you got that 26A number, it probably refers to the entire system.

The 600W StealthXStream shouldn't have any issues running a pair of GTX+ cards.

Thanks a lot, that clears up a lot of questions.
