Enhancements at CallWithUs

Have noticed some service enhancements at CWU:

a) New server in the UK, may be attractive to many users.

(Use uk.callwithus.com if you are in Europe, Africa or Middle East).

b) Many more DID numbers available.

c) But a new disclaimer: "Because of mandatory E911 requirement in USA, we do not offer USA DIDs to US residents as we do not provide 911 service".

Ahh yet the Asterisk2billing open source. Call Shop platform.

So who are their carriers? Do they say? Just a Betamax reseller like future nines?

The rates are lower at »siptraffic.com/

Once I close out my account with »voicetrading.com that is where I am headed. Lower minimums as well. $200 instead of $500

EDIT:It also looks like didx.net for the dids.

(Yawn! Wake me up when something new comes by)

You do realize siptraffic and voicetrading is the same thing, right? (Betamax)

And we are NOT "just a Betamax reseller". We work with many wholesale carriers.

Hey I can't keep up with their crazy German antics.

Wait we are Finnera... No wait we are Betamax... No wait we are separate... Arg! Whatever... 2 Sites 2 different rates.

I have 2 accounts with Voicetrading.com and I might open up one with siptraffic.com

Good to hear you have different carriers. That is a relief. What wholesale carriers do you use?

Also if you are getting business of the list this is very good. Why not upgrade your membership here for $10?

I noticed the different rates too, but it's not too substantial, and VT seems cheaper anyway. I do need to take a better look at it some day though..

I'm sorry, but for competitive reasons I cannot tell you who our carriers are.

If you were a big wholesaler then you wouldnt have anything to worry about from a fellow like me who only does $50 worth of long distance a month.

You had mentioned in a previous post that Voice trading and siptraffic were not residential accounts. I would hardly call a starting amount of of $200 to $500 that never expires a wholesale account.

Most companies are proud to carry the names of their providers. ie an ISP Yes we get our bandwidth directly from Level3

Sorry I assumed you were using them. They are one of the few carriers that offer 3 levels of quality and different carriers have different names for it. Are you using them or is that a secret?

I didnt mean to make this thread about your company...

Oh well.. You can still upgrade your DSL reports account.

This thread was hijacked.

Considering all the grief involved in implementing E911, Sergei's decision not to offer US DIDs is understandable. No doubt there are many goods and services that never see the light of day because of oppressive regulation.

Surprised at the hijacking of this thread.

CallWithUs---which I have no connection to other than being a customer and being a fellow New Jerseyean---is a small family owned and operated company. Regular readers of this forum know that.

Unlike all the Betamax operations, they are generally well regarded. And they have no monthly fee (other than for DID) and no monthly minimums. Zero.

As far as Level3, various VoIP executives are reporting that things are NOT so good as you seem to think:

Level3 was not a pinancle of super achievement. It was merely an example. "Insert your own Name Here"

I have no connection nor am I a direct client or competitor to (I may unknowingly be an indirect client) with Level 3, Callwithus, Future Nines, & Betamax.

I sell vouchers to students locally who need international access. My service which I promote would not be applicable to any readers of this thread.

My post was intended to be on topic.

Betamax has many issues. However call quality has not been one of them for me.

For those who don't know CallWithUs, it has had good ratings, and in the past often was at or near the top of the GBU list.

However, because they are small, they do not generate a large number of reviews, and hence are not on the most recent lists.

And for those who yawn easily, yes, they are a pretty quiet company. Quiet is good.
