connecting DVR to DVD

I am thinking of getting fios and have been looking at the diagrams of the back of the motorola HD-DVR and have a question about hooking it up to a dvd recorder. If I am forced to use component cables to hook it up to my tv, how would i hook up the DVD as well? It seems I can hook up video via the composite cables but I only see one audio out. If that is going to the tv, how do i send audio to DVD at the same time?

also, if i use html (which is preferred), and hook up the dvd via composite, are both output simultaneously?

Ideally, I want the tv and dvd hooked up at the same time. Is this possible? I am not seeing it from the diagram of the back.

Thanks

I've never seen a html hookup before. All outputs are active at the same time, however.

I've seen HTML hookups, plenty of times.
Mostly on Craigslist, or spam.

HDMI, component, S-Video, and composite video are all active at the same time. Also both optical and coaxial digital audio are active along with the standard RCA audio jacks.

Hope that helps.
