Fios HD TV Box

I was wondering what the composite ports on the front of my fios box are for? And what are the USB and Firewire ports on the back for?

The composite inputs on the front of the box are for video input, but they aren't functional.

The USB port on the back has no functional use at this time. It is there for future use, should Verizon need it.

The Firewire port is for use with older televisions that use that connection (instead of HDMI) for video input. It is also there to allow recording of all channels using a JVC, Mitsubishi, or Panasonic HDTV D-VHS VCR. Finally, the Firewire port can be used to record local HD channels with your computer using a program like DVHSCap.
