They do it 2 ways ... you send them the router they get it then they send a replacement. or you give them your credit card and they send you a replacement before they get yours back.

I have exact the same problem with my N1 Vision. He wont startup. After pushing the RESET the display message "Download Mode..." come up. went to restart my N1 today, and as per others descriptions it keeps resetting after about 20% progress on the reboot progress bar. Trying to do a reset either fails, or ends up at the DOWNLOAD MODE screen.

After humouring the tech support dude and all his suggestions i asked if there was a known issue with the router or the latest firmware. He replied yes. I asked what the issue was and he responded that there was no issues! I asked if we had misunderstood each other and he said yes. He then told me their was a "real" issue on the router. I asked what the resoltuion was. he said replace it! I laughed, thanked him for his time and ended the call.

Did that for 5 minutes and it worked. Plugged in the router and started up. Flashed fw 1.016 and same problem again.
After freezing (xD) it started again, and I tried fw 1.011. Same problem again. Now I´m running 1.016 and can´t restart the router because of the startup problem. What can we do???

Having the same problems here with N1Vision, lockups, reboots, 1 port won't do gig. Where did you get firmware 1.00.16? Latest on the website is ".11" and latest router can find is ".15". I owned a Belkin n1 Vision and i wanted to update the firmware. I have done it via the usual way. »192.168.2.1 and browsed to the new firmware F5D8232-4_WW_1.00.15. But now the router wont start up. You can see the bar filling one a little and then it will reboot itself again, always in a loop.

Then if i reset the router i get the message Download Mode and nothing happens. I searched around and followed this instructions.

"- Connect the computer to the router and disconnect the modem from the router.
- Take the paper clip and press the reset button of the router for 60 seconds.
- While holding reset button, after 20 seconds unplug the power cable of the router.
- Wait for 20 seconds and plug it back.
- And wait for 20 more seconds then release the reset button."

but this is not working. Is there a way to start up the router in Safe Mode? Or a way to reinstall the firmware?
