I paid $1.25 for a toll and had the 75 cents change from the tollbooth person in my hands ready to pay the next toll of 75 cents.
I hand the guy the 75 cents and he says he can't take it because one quarter was canadian. I tried arguing with him that this was the change from the other toll worker and and it was not my fault they hand out canadian quarters.
He would not give in, so I threw a quarter at him and he finally opened the gate. Those people are retards.

| He knows the toll before is 1.25 so he knows I got my change from it.
He seemed to be right off truck from mexico and did not speak english that well. He literally was too stupid to understand what I was saying. I was on the way to the airport or I would have demanded a manager.
It is fine to refuse to take canadian coins, but its not ok when you are handing them out for change.

I have family in Kissimmee... we drove to Miami from Kissimmee one summer on the turnpike and ended up paying like $13 in tolls one way. Total rip off. |

Here in Central Florida the last I heard on the news about SunPass and the Toll roads was they were about ready to indite/arrest some high up mongrel in the Turnpike system. |

New Hampshire is very famous for this... won't accept Canadian money on the way north, but when you come right back down south on their tollway and get change from the attendant... guess what it's Canadian...  But the way the US dollar has been the previous year this maybe a good thing. |

My personal gripe with the tolls (at least here in FL) is that none of them will accept plastic. So what the hell am I supposed to do if I don't have any cash on me but know I've enough in my account to pay the toll? It certainly seems utterly retarded to pay a $2 "convenience charge"  just to have some bills in order to pay the monkey in the booth. Are they too cheap good for having something I could slide my card through to pay the toll?

I don't care that that's what you got from the last toll booth. You should have paid more attention. It's only 3 quarters.
He understood perfectly what you were saying - you were wrong and he was right. I'm sure a manager would have said the same thing.
I don't understand why you think they should accept the Canadian coin, just because you did they don't. Tough luck.
Next time pay more attention. |

We have EZ-Tag here in Houston and it is wonderful. It automatically refills the account from a credit card or checking account when the account gets below a certain amount, and it saves $0.25 at the main toll plazas. It can also be used on any toll road in the state, and at certain airports to pay for parking. |

| I might have thought about using the SunPass for airport parking a year ago... but I would not trust their crap even if they gave me a 50% discount.
And FWIW I will never park at an airport after a bad experience at MCO. They list a price at their website and then when you are leaving tell you "Oh that price is if you park in ANOTHER lot" and charge you double, either price is a rip-off.
