Canada emerges as haven for spam

Where's the throttle when you actually need it?

"Canadian antispam laws are woefully inadequate and we are rapidly emerging as a haven for spammers eager exploit the weak legal framework."

Re: Canada emerges as haven for spam

I dont understand how the companies that advertise with spam think they are winning us over in to their products? Who in their right mind thinks that a person is going to buy a product that is jamed in to their inbox 20 times a day, every day.

If anything, it makes me despise them.

So I click on the star link above and guess what, an unmovable spam link pops up.

Myself, I don't have trouble with spam in my email. Maybe it's because I know how to not get spam.

I get spam, however, all of the spam is automaticaly filtered in to the spam folder. But I would love to not get any.

Re: Canada emerges as haven for spam

Sadly, there are enough people who buy stuff from spam emails, which keeps spammers in business.

The spam annoys the heck out of me ..sure you can filter to another inbox BUT you've already wasted bandwidth just downloading the junk
I don't want to waste one 'bit' to spammers - ultimately we all pay...

It only takes a few knuckle heads out of a million (times hundreds of millions of spam messages) to make it worth the while of spammers.

Interestingly enough, when I left Sympatico for TSI, I registered my own domain for email purposes. It's about a week away from the first anniversary and to date I have not received a single piece of spam, even without any filters.

I had several sympatico email addresses and every one of them were spam magnets. Even the ones that I didn't use.
