| [Other] Hughs Network
Greetings,
A fair warning to all about or in need of broadband service that may be looking at Hughes network. Don't they are terrible!!! After spending hundreds of dollars on this service it is not worth it. Customer service isn't located in the US, nor is their billing dept. They are terrible.
Now off to craigs list to sell this crap. |

| Welcome to BBR. There is a Hughes forum here at BBR. I'll ask mods to move your post.
May want to check it out before you sell the equipment. I assume you opted for Sat because there were no other options. Hopefully other Hughes customers will be able to assist you.

| reply to sumless Hiya, Long time member first time sender lol.
Yes there are no other options out here, with the exception of a T1 line which is a little more than I can get the wife to agree too. I am so upset with Hughes. I've open multiple trouble tickets with them for the following 1. DNS - I have a DNS server at home, the DNS queries are way messed up as in the router masks the requesting IP. long story. 2. The IP address (Ihave a static assigned) didn't have a RDNS assigned so email went poof to several ISPs 3. When they did put in a RDNS, it was listed as a Dynamic, I called Trend-Micro to ask them about why I was black listed, they (rightly so) said they had tried to contact Hughes about the IP Blocks they have and have gotten no response. Go figure. Here I am out about 1K for a service that is totally useless. Sorry to rant, but this is horrible. -Joe |

| reply to sumless I thought I was stuck with hughesNet. They made me so mad about 10 days ago. I had no service. I called support, they made it worse. Was going to have a tech out ($125), my equipment was out of warranty and I was no longer under contract. So, the tech guy called and told me that I really needed the 9000. That meant new contract, etc. I told him no way. I called Verizon about an aircard and they told me that it would not work in my area and that no one else had anything that would work. My cell is sporadic out here. But, I called my AT&T store and they told me to come get an aircard and that I could try it for 30 days. Its a bit slow, but so was hughes. So far, I like it. Plus I can take it wherever I want to go. It is worth checking into. |
