 | Listen to us AT&T Dear AT&T,
I have posted on DSLR many times and apparently you have been ignoring my threats. If you implement caps in my region (southeast) I will leave your company and you will lose the precious revenue that you can at least get to cover the expense of operation your ancient copper based POTS lines. As it is I am happy with my service now. If caps are imposed I will not explain to the representative why I am cancelling service. That should be necessary. I will simply explain that I can no long afford the service (which would be true) and then I will switch another competitor in my market (cable company).
AT&T, please consider what I am telling you. I will not tolerate being fleeced on the grounds of hyped up charges of "exafloods" and inadequate bandwidth.
Have a nice evening,
Current Precious Customer in North Carolina |

| Here is what I sent AT&T through my U-verse account login page:
If you implement metered billing for U-verse Internet Services in Austin, Texas I will reduce my current Voice, TV and Internet packages to the lowest levels and begin shopping for another provider. I do not wish to do business with a company that imposes these kinds of policies on all customers to curb the usage of a few while attempting to disguise the fact that you are squeezing customers for more money under the guise of a supposed improved customer experience. Charging $1 for every Gigabyte above and beyond your usage caps is insulting and greedy. I also plan to tell all my friends and family about what you are planning. I hardly think you will find anyone who will agree with this billing policy. Get ready for a tremendous amount of customer back lash! |

There simply isn't enough bandwidth on the planet for everyone to use their connection to maximum capacity at all times. The current pricing models were created at a time when no one could have used that much bandwidth... no that P2P applications can and do utilize the full connection a new paradigm is needed.
Electricity isn't unlimited... water isn't unlimited... why do people seem to think bandwidth should be? I'm happy to pay for what I use, |

I'm happy to pay for what I use, You can't use their Max18 (at full capacity) service for more than 45 mins a day without going over your CAP. Now split that among a family and I am telling you that a lot more people will be going over their CAP and getting stuck with a huge bill. If they want to introduce a CAP at least make it fair. I will also write to my state representatives if this is implemented and suggest that they start regulating ATT Internet like a utility. This is nothing about using it 24X7. |
