Been using UNIX systems since the late 80s. Many things have been problems, security-wise, but viruses have never been one of them. Then again, I've never made a habit of running around logged in as root.

I tried Avast's 60-day free trial of their Mac version, and removed it after about 3 days. It kept crashing and seemed to slow things down just a bit.
