As a result, no amount of income tax cuts will be of any benefit to them, while a GST cut - however small - DOES have an impact.<br><small>--<br>I swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen.</small>]]></description>

For example, up to 4 years ago, I was teaching one spring course at the University of Ottawa, meaning ~24h per month. My cheque was lowered accordingly (i.e. I was getting nothing  during those 4 months). There is a $200 (I think) exemption. If you earn less than that, your cheque is not affected.]]></description>

If you could somehow manage to work a couple hours a day to better your life-----do they allow that?<br>I just had to turn down 2 job offers----one was driving a school bus. I paid for the medical involved and failed the hearing test. It was 2 hours a day for 65 bucks a day---perfect for me. I could manage that. <br>Then they offered me one driving a class B mail truck so I called my insurance company. BIG MISTAKE. <br>ANY employment for renumeration gets me cut off regardless of my health. Which could get worse any time. Now theyre hassling me for more medical tests which I pay out of pocket.  I should have stayed home on my ass as usual. <br>Now the military is different. They can be collecting disability and working full time in civilian sector. Doesn't matter what may be wrong-----or may not be.  ]]></description>

Some places pass on the savings, others do not.<br><br>Therefore, not all goods and services that apply GST had savings realized.]]></description>
