Five -- FIVE!! -- failed telephone calls to repair, dropped here or there -- I was red faced SCREAMING at the damned phone tree in frustration by the fifth call. Pulled my modem out of bridge mode (where I put it 5 months ago in some Rube-Goldbergian sequence that only Simon could remember). No better.

Suddenly things started to work again. No notes on any of VZ's 100-different DSL network status boards around the net.

Please, tell me it wasn't just me!
