|  [trouble] Setting up mail/Mac
Hello-
I'm running OS 10.5.5 on a iMac G5-Intel, and have verizon dsl account.
I'm running the pre-loaded - Apple Mail ver. 3.5. Please help me
set up a e-mail account. Please go step by step, Thanks

| Start OS X Mail. From the Mail menu, select Preferences. Click Add Account, or the plus sign "+" at the lower left of the window. Click the Account Information tab. From the Account Type menu, select POP. In the Description field enter a name for this account. In the Email Address field enter your Verizon email address. Type incoming.verizon.net in the Incoming Mail Server field. In the User Name field, enter your Verizon user name. In the Password field, enter your Verizon password. From the Outgoing Mail Server menu, select New. Type outgoing.verizon.net in the Outgoing Mail Server field. Click OK.
In the Accounts window click the Advanced tab.
Check the Enable this Account option.
Check the Include when automatically checking for new email option if you want. Click OK.

forgot to tell you that it is a yahoo/verizon
e-mail account. Can I still use this app?

Canada | Yes, but you need to change the incoming and outgoing server adresses mentioned above to "incoming.yahoo.verizon.net" and "outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net" respectively.

Buckingham, PA | You have to have your authentication information in your mail client setup for sending via the VZ SMTP servers. That's usually a separate entry in the software, but I'm not familiar with the MAC client and cannot tell you the steps for it. |
