I am trying to stream radio with iTunes and it never comes in. Is this a limitation of Hughes? I have tried the same station on both a PC and a Mac, with both itunes and windows media player and real player and nothing connects. |

1 edit | reply to rjgogo I have the same issue with iTunes. On occasion I can get the station list to load and once in a while I can connect to a stream. I've tried disabling TurboPage to no avail. It's something within iTunes. Any stream I've wished to listen to on iTunes, I've found listed on shoutcast.com and they work fine using VLC. I rarely use iTunes since they refuse to add support for aac+ streaming.
I haven't had any problem using Windows Media Player on my old XP box or my Palm device using Pocket Tunes. |

| reply to rjgogo ITunes radio streaming works fine on my PC with Windows XP and HN7000S. Check your browser settings. For IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Security. Make sure that "Use SSL 3.0" and "Use TLS 1.0" are checked. For Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Encryption > Protocols. Make sure that "Use SSL 3.0" and "Use TLS 1.0" are checked. |

| said by yolarry :Can Radio fap hughesnet? If I play it at night? That depends on the audio stream rate. For example, if the audio is streaming at 56kbps and your service plan recover rate is 25kbps, then you are eating into your FAP bucket. But if the stream is 32kbps, and your recover rate is 42kbps, then you are recovering your bucket faster than you are emptying it, and you can listen to the radio forever. -- High tech in the high mountains @8500 ft elevation|Linksys wired/wireless network across 80 acres|HN7000S|ProPlus Package|Static IP|AMC3 Transponder 1150|A place to go where you can Forget It All-www.fiaranch.com |

| reply to rjgogo I had the same issue- I finally got streaming radio to work by changing the proxy address. My normal proxy setting (under tools/internet options)is 192.168.0.1 with port 87, but to stream radio I change 'proxy address to use' for http to 69.19.14.10 and port 3128. I don't leave that as my default proxy address when I'm not listening to internet radio because it slows down general browsing. -- DW7000 Pro w/static IP/89W/1170Mhz/1W/WINXP |

@direcpc.com | With HN7000S, I use no proxy. Under tools > internet options > Connections > LAN settings > Proxy server, "Use a proxy server" is unchecked. |
