Care to start your own ISP? I'll be the first to sign up for the $9.95 per month all you can eat fiber to the modem deal everyone thinks is so cheap to provide. Some people need to get out and actually run a business before they tell someone else how to run theirs. (And yes, I do run a business so I have some idea of the costs of doing so.) |

Already have it, though it's limited on download speed, but it's all you can eat for that price.

Good for you, I took courses in economics a few decades ago, and the basic principles of running a business have not changed much since then. Does your business have the benefit of near total control of the industry's future technology, price-fixing, and little or no legitimate competition? Are you operating in an environment where you can lobby and have legislation molded to suit your best interests over that of the customers'?
Since it is nearly impossible at this point to try and create a private business to compete with the conglomerates, perhaps we need something similar to the US Postal Service for the internet? It seems to work in keeping major players like FedEx or UPS from going nuts and charging ridiculous fees to ship a package. It's nice to have a real alternative. Wish it was the same for the internet.
