Re: I wonder how the count the traffic Here on Bresnan, each subscriber gets 2 IPs so to speak. One is assigned to the modem directly and is inside of Bresnan's internal network with a private IP in the 10.253.x.x range. The other is assigned to the device behind the modem and is a public IP in the 69.144.x.x range.
If they were to monitor only the 69.144.x.x IP, that should eliminate any local chatter from the modem to the CMTS and vice versa. |

That is what I was referring to. If a public IP isn't assigned to SOME device attached to the cable modem, you can't send traffic anyway. |
