1 edit | Hopefully won't affect us too bad, have 4 Desktops, and 2 Laptops--Normal usage is online gaming myself, youtube for upstairs PCs, some Hulu, Secondlife usage here with streaming music and video usually on there at least 12 hours a day or more.
As far as Router is concerned have at&t 2wire 2701 dsl modem/router after our netgear died, we decided to get the 2wire,i'm assuming the 2wire doesn't have any bandwidth monitoring though for the entire network. I'm in Michigan so the cap isn't here yet, just getting prepared slowly, i would consider getting a different modem and router if i had to though, still have my old speedstream 5100B modem, but old router is dead as can be, and the 2wire works best with all our wireless PC's, no more dropping of wireless signal like with old router
As For Mcafee Security suite suppose could install that on all the Pc's, but some are low end with only 512mb's of ram or 1gb of ram--upgrading ram isn't an issue though, could do that easily, this machine has 4gb, desktop 2-2gb of ram, laptop 1.5gbhs(techically 2gbs) but with shared video memory a little less), and laptop 2 2gbs of ram, and Desktop 3(512mbs of ram) and 1gb for Desktop 4. Would Mcafee run just fine with the memory on those PC's |
