Re: ISP's their own worst enemy. Interesting, is that where "common carrier" rules originated from? One might say that the internet is like a series of rails, all connected. But it's not a solid think, like a locomotive.
Anyways, it will be interesting what happens when the ISP says "no" to the itemized bandwidth request. It's obviously a very difficult thing to put together, but there's precedent with phone lines in the telecommunications service provider having to justify their metered charges. If Comcast doesn't do a good job, or errs against the customers, they'll be a target for a class action lawsuit.
Comcast has lied about their network management practices before, people will be rightly skeptical if Comcast produces higher numbers than the router (or McAfee) reports. |
