Do you suppose that the feds will allow Comcast and Time Warner Cable to merge? Then those Comcast caps could be given to TWC customers, assuning that they are reaslistic and the infrastructure can support them. I remember when the territory I was in was owned by Comcast, and then was sold to Adelphia. When the opportunity to get it back from Adelphia came along, Comcast didn't bite.

they wouldn't be allowed to merge. Even if the Republicans would still be in office Jan 20th that type of merger would not be allowed.

That would not keep TWC from going bankrupt, so far as I know, because if the Republicans were still in office on January 21 or later, a bailout of TWC would not be likely.
Once TWC went bankrupt, the assets would be available to whatever entities were still around.

I have C-Span on now and Sen Bennett asked the CEOs of Chrysler and GM whether they would be willing to accept a requirement to merge their companies if that were included in a deal from Congress to give them money to stay alive. So, the idea of allowing a merger in another industry, even if it were non-competitive to some extent, isn't really out of the question, I think. Besides that, there's no real competition in cable due to the franchise arrangements. I can't get Comcast if I'm in TWC territory.
