AOL cease to exist?

If they lose 7% of their subscriber base every quarter, how long until they are gone?

None. While the percentage says relatively even, the absolute numbers are declining.

AOL's subscriber losses the past several quarters.
3Q06 -2,502,000 (14%)
4Q06 -2,015,000 (13.3%)
1Q07 -1,184,000 (9.0%)
2Q07 -1,071,000 (8.9%)
3Q07 -851,000 (7.8%)
4Q07 -740,000 (7.3%)
1Q08 -647,000 (6.9%)
2Q08 -604,000 (7.0%)

Still, that's an incredible subscriber loss. From 17,700,000 at June 30, 2006 to 8,086,000 two years later.

It would take 7 more years for them to drop to 1 million subscribers. 12 years to drop to 250K, 15 years to drop to 100K. Of course that's assuming once they get that low AOL would care to still be an ISP.

Just 6 years ago AOL had 26.7 million subscribers.

I thought they were gone. I mean its been ages since I've gotten an AOL CD in the mail.
Is it just a coincidence that AT&T and Comcast have nearly an identical market share and # of subscribers?:tinfoilhat:
