Albeit that you could build/buy your own server and deploy NITIX [Ed now called "Lotus Foundations server operating system"] software.
If you are interested, contact the company and enquire if it is possible to pickup one of the older 'Micro' products. They are discontinued but just as snazzy and considerably cheaper.
As for an ADSL modem, you'll ideally want one that will pass the WAN IP through to the LAN side and allow the server's firewall to process the incoming. I use a D-Link DSL-300T
Just a note on load balancing, you may be confusing that with load sharing. Balancing would require a line and servers between the ISP's. Sharing is what you and I have that also offers redundancy and diversity - which in my mind, is probably more important. |
