THanks Helpless, I'm glad to see that I was not the only one. I needed your response as a sanity check. When I used to post here there was a dedicated Satellite Forum where Earthlink people could post. I notice that that has since disappeared, and I must confess, that it has been years since I have posted here. Must have been my blind faith in the assumption that Earthlink would "take care" of me, and that I was happy with their service. I was neither e-mailed or informed in any way of their intent to disable the DW4000. I just suddenly had the carpet pulled out from under me, which I don't think Grohgreg understands as being traumatic, considering that I have a 4 computer home network, all tied in to my Satellite connection, AND that I run a business that relies on a high speed internet connection in order to function. I'm now reduced to ONE 26.6K modem connection, which only one of us can use at a time, by running around changing phone jack cords. Its like going from having a telephone to using 2 cans and a string.
