Re: Overkill and overpriced

True, the only benefit besides bragging rights I can see to this is transferring files to another Fios customer with the 100 MB service....

Well, I'm patiently waiting. My street is on the construction list this month, and the build out in my CO is in it's final stages....

No shit!
What good is having 100mbps when nearly everyone else had 6mbps - slowest link determines actual speed.

I use my 50mbs connection to it's full potential almost everyday. the faster the better. I have no problem using all 50mbs. i could easily max a faster speed too. Not sure about 100mbs though.

What server did you find that lives on a gigabit and doesn't limit CPU for apache threads?

Maybe he downloads from multiple sources to achieve that speed? Comon, don't be so close minded!

I do download from multiplr sources. But for single sources the PS3 will always hit my 50mbs max when downloading from the PSN and when downloading from Xbox Live with my 360s I hit between 40mbs and 50mbs.

I'd like to know what kind of crappy server he's used to running Apache on that doesn't do TCP offloading onto the NIC cards. I can push GigE to/from our JBoss servers running APR on the front end with 0% CPU usage.
