I got this message on my box tonight
"effective on or after 3/2/09 FSN HD is being added to our HD Lineup on ch 734"
my guess is this channel will launch after this date in the areas that have transitioned then when each area is transitioned

Thanks navada. I just wanted to let you know that there is at least one person following your updates.

A question for you: Are 32-71 still available as clear QAM, or have they been encrypted?

(I live in the McMinville area and am awaiting the same analog reclamation...)

yes 32-71 are still available in clear QAM now i have heard that in salem they moved the QAM freq. for those channels to the 64,65,66,67,68,69 range that includes all channels that are avail. via a dta except for the basic cable channels and any local subchannels that are still where they are now

i found this in our newspaper today

"Davis said the change includes 20 channels that will be added to the standard and expanded basic packages within the next few weeks.

wounder what that means and i dont think there are talking about hd

ALBANY, CORVALLIS, EUGENE UPDATE as expected we lost all analogs 31-71 today no new hd but i will monitor the channels and will post when something happens

in another mater i am now seeing that areas with WGN in there lineup (Salem south it is not part of our lineup). will get WGN HD on 709 when the time comes in your area to get the new hd channels.

the dates for the transition should be
SALEM AREA JAN. 14TH-28TH, hd channel additions FEB 2
EUGENE/CORVALLIS FEB. 11TH-25TH hd channel additions MARCH 2
SW WASHINGTON MARCH. 18TH, hd channel additions APRIL. 1
TUALATIN/MCMINVILLE APRIL. 15TH, hd channel additions APRIL. 29
WEST PORTLAND /ST. HELENS MAY 13TH, hd channel additions MAY. 28
EAST PORTLAND JUNE 10TH, hd channel additions JUNE. 24.

I will say this for people following this I have seen where the hd additions are made a week after all the analogs (31-71 in my area (32-71 elsewhere)
go to the screen capture that i posted before at least in the Salem and Albany Corvallis markets so the hd addition dates listed may very by up to a week for

note about the future of my posts on this thread will be very limited in regard to future transitions in the rest of the market as my transition has happened the only updates i will be able to post are those of messages that come off my digital box and the limited info i can get from someone at comcast(i dont push hard for info that is how i got the dates )

Here at the University of Oregon we still have our channels in analog (and no digital). On february 11th we actually lost our clear QAM HD locals, I have no idea as to why.

I was researching and isn't comcast required by law to offer local feeds of High Def channels even if through clear QAM.

I wonder if the U of O blocked the crossover?!

Nice lineup. You should of put the guide on single height row so there's 5 channels per screen (6 if you don't have guide ad's and it doesn't look like you do). Then you could of taken less pictures.

It's getting to the point where there's so many channels, scrolling through looks like "blah blah blah". If they had some icon or channel logo things would be more identifiable. Stuff like DXDHD, NICHD, DISHD, LMNHD, etc, doesn't mean anything to me. But show a Disney XD logo and a Nickelodeon logo, discovery logo, etc.. semi-transparent behind the text inside the channel ID cells and maybe one can make better sense out of it.

try a rescan from the info i can see here is where you local hd channels are in the QAM world

SD locals are in the 80 range
the only thing you should have lost was digital versions of expanded basic channels because they are now in the range of ch 64-69 or are getting ready to switch soon

Very jealous of you guys in Oregon! Hopefully Philly gets this to happen this summer, since we started deploying DTA boxes a couple months ago, just no mention yet of analog cutoff.

See if you can talk to someone at the school from the IT department, they might know a bit more technical information as to why they took off the HD locals. Many campuses have custom lineups in their contracts with cable companies, and don't do upgrades/updates with the corresponding neighborhoods bordering the campus. At some schools the IT folk might be in charge of some parts of the cable system, at some it might be completely handled by Comcast. Someone from IT should know the situation at U of O.

We've got the new HD channels that NVBell listed above (Jan 11) here Beaverton/Garden Home (Westside Portland). Just noticed them tonight while looking at the guide. No announcements or messages on the STB, but they all seem to be working, plus a couple more that weren't listed.
