| Are you referring to hop #9? That's not part of BellSouth/AT&T's system. BTW, pings are low-priority for ISPs, and might not necessarily reflect conditions for actual data. Anecdotally, however, I can tell you that latency numbers are climbing nationwide, as I test daily using Doctor Ping.

@bellsouth.net | Hello. I am the owner of this line. graysonf you are correct, my line is interleaved. do you know what i could do about this? can my isp change the data path to fast? |
|
graysonf Premium,MVM join:1999-07-16 Fort Lauderdale, FL | You can call ATT/Bellsouth tech support and ask to have the line returned to fast path. Many times lines are switched to interleaved to make them more stable, so there may be an impact in going back to fast path. |

Hello. I am the owner of this line. graysonf you are correct, my line is interleaved. do you know what i could do about this? can my isp change the data path to fast? I suggest you post your modem statistics for attenuation, S/N and sync rate before making that request. If your S/N is low, the interleaved may well be to your benefit... unless you might also be willing to reduce your sync speed. |

| wowowoww so i called bellsouth tech support and wowwowow. thats all i can say. first they connect me to the wrong department. then i get this woman on the phone and i ask her to remove my noise profile and the only answer she can give me is that i need to connect to a closer server. then i ask to speak to the supervisor and i ask her to do it and she tells me there is nothing wrong with my line. then i ask her to call DSG and she says she cannot call without a valid reason/problem. then i tell her my ping is high and she says we dont see a problem in the line. and during all of this i am being completely patient. they made me wait atleast 15 min. terrrrrible unreliable tech support. what do u think i can do? |

| Many people do not know sh*t about computers.
Don't be so quick to stereotype the entire female population. I know a few tech-savvy ladies who'll quickly take you to task over that statement. One of them just happens to be a service technician for a large mid-western telco who is a whiz with Perl scripting and knows a bit about wiring a cabinet in the correct fashion. |
