What modem to get base on my ISP Dslam chipset

My ISP just recently upgraded their infrastructure with these two units;

Occam BLC 6000 - Broadcom's BladeRunner chipset

Extreme Networks Black Diamond 6808 _ ?

I don't know if these two devices work in conjunction or do one work in the forefront in the dslam. I'm thinking one of them have direct connection to my modem. If I can find out the chipset and buy a modem with the same Dslam chipset manufacture I'm told you will get better performance.

Lets say if the Occam BLC 6000 is the dslam(which uses Broadcom) Buying a modem like the D-Link DSL-2540B that has a Broadcom chipset would be a better choice than a AR7 chipset modem.

I guess what i'm asking is which one of those two devices is my dslam?

After searching and searching I came across this PDF file; »www.extremenetworks.com/ ··· M_SP.pdf

It seems the Black Diamond 6808 works with the dslam.. which means Occam BLC 6000 is my Dslam.

Broadcom modem it is!
