Okay so the guy did a good deed but when he got back to the shop I bet the supervisor just shook his head at him. Why? Liabilty! If someone had gotten hurt during his heroic rescue they could have potentially sued Comcast for millions.
I bet he was told not to do it again and was told insteed to just let the autorities handle the situation.
But at the same time we also have this thing called the good samaritan act. I heard a story years ago where a guy was charged with negligence for NOT helping in an emergency.
Or how about this one... a guy helped a family get out of their burning house and inhaled some smoke. The ambulance guys gave him a hit of O2 and a few weeks later he got a bill for $400 from the ambulance company.
