| One thing That might be possible... is to simply take the card out of these and plunk 'em into a different laptop
From what I've read, the Aspire One's have a port on the bottom for the card. No need to disassemble it completely like you have to for a RAM upgrade... |

However the SIM holder is separate and you would need an antenna in the other laptop if you wanted to use the card internally. Neither should be a big deal to add - but it's not going to be plug-n-play.
What I'm more interested in - is adding 3G to a non-3G Aspire One, which is apparently possible. -- Nitzan Kon, CEO Future Nine Corporation |

Most netbooks sport a mini PCI-e so you can just install yourself any of these: »www.mobilx.hu/mobile-datacards/e···les.html -- [BQUOTE=[user=bicker]]Waaaa waaaa waaaa. You just want what you want and don't care to factor in what is right or true. Your perspectives are un-American, and deserve far more ridicule than I'm prepared to pile on them. [/BQUOTE] |

From what I understand you cant take the card out. It will be integrated into the laptop. |

nitzanPremium,VIP join:2008-02-27 kudos:2 | I don't think so. Assuming they haven't changed the overall layout for the 3G version, the layout on the non-3G versions suggests that the 3G card will be a mini-PCIe card which you will be able to take out. Either way I don't see why you'd want to buy a $350 Netbook (or $99 w/ $1440 contract) just to pry out a wireless card which you can easily buy elsewhere for something like $50. Moot point. -- Nitzan Kon, CEO Future Nine Corporation |
