Re: $60/mo 2 yr contract for all AT&T laptop data plans said by fAcEtIOUs:Since all AT&T laptop plans cost $60/mo on a 2 yr contract anyway, taking advantage of this offer to get a $500 netbook for $99 will be a deal possibly worth taking. So, if you were planning to sign up for a laptop data plan anyway - this deal may be for you. ROFL the good-ol' corporate mouthpiece "arguments" - as awlays it's simply not true because
- you can sign up WITHOUT making a VERY EXPENSIVE 2-yr commitment - you could just use a regular SIM with the ~$20 unlimited smartphone monthly service fee as well (provided you have an account anyway).
So no, it doesn't make sense anyway to commit so much money for AT&T, especially for such a crappy 3G service.

Not quite - the $30 PDA phone != a tethered device. Oh wait ... that's assuming you already have a PDA. All tethered plans and/or laptop devices have been $60/month. This is nothing new. Personally - I'd take purchase a laptop and tether to 3G service as needed (vs. 2 year commitment) - but that's because I already have a 3G device. The ONLY downside of this arrangement is _really_ that AT&T has a harsh TOS on their plans... 5GB and no VoIP, etc. I think that's more of the problem for me than the $99 laptop w/service arrangement. |
