| So I was stuck in traffic for 4 and a half hours because Califonians can not drive!!!! I left at 6am and didn't get home till 10:30am because Cajon Pass was closed. Now I have a hotel room down here so that I can work a couple of twelve hour days to make up for yesturday. sigh. The pass better be closed again tonight, or I will be upset. You better do something about that ghostpainter. |

1 edit | Big Bear this Morning...Well let see....How about 80% chance of snow down to 1500 feet over night with another 1 to 2 inches of rain over night. Should begin to clear out Wednesday afternoon with another round of rain set up for Christmas possible beginning next Monday. |

I was stranded at a truck stop for 3 days in Amarillo one winter when a freak blizzard dumped 2 ft of snow on the area. They had to call in equipment from other states. -- Póg mo thóin |

| Oh god, 3 days of truckstop food, and you survived! My respect, admaration, and fear of you just went up 10 fold!
The worst part, I was taking these to the office, and ate 80% of them. There goes the diet. -- Einstein: Time. Crichton: Flies. Einstein: Time. Crichton: Bandits. Einstein: Time. Crichton: Wounds all heals. Einstein: Time. Crichton: Rosemary and... Einstein: Time. Crichton: Time ends |

| Now I'm jealous. I LOVE Xmas cookies.
It wasn't that bad. I was at a Petro, and their Iron Skillet restaurants turn out some pretty decent food. It could have been worse though.... the truck stop I'd spent the night in the night before in Tucumcari, NM was like something out of a horror movie. Worst Mexican food I've ever eaten, and in dumpy, dirty surroundings. It closed up years ago, I'm told. Glad I wasn't stuck there.
As it was, in Amarillo I had to slog my way through above-the-knee- snow for most of 3 days to get to the toilets and restaurant. No plows available. -- Póg mo thóin |

| In 1985 i got stuck in Evanstan WY, during a blizzard that hit the area. We were all in heavy trucks as we were moving my aunt and uncle to Custer SD.
Anyway, we waited for 3 days as about 4 feet of powder built up on the 80 eating at some real good restaurants, one of which had a really french toast and sausage breakfast and the rooms were good too.
In side they had a list that you could sign up to that the WHP would advise when the temps rose to 34 degrees. That white powder could be driven in once the temp went back above freezing.
sure enough, as we watched the bottom of the TV screen for the outside temperature, it went up to 34 and the WHP called and said we could roll. We were doing 40 east bound through 10 inches of white fluffy powder.
Then we ran into another storm in Casper way up highway 25 and had to sit this time. 6 inches of ice is for get it, you aint moving. -- »www.insidetheie.com/ »earthlogii.blogspot.com/ »vietaffairsvets.blogspot.com/ »earthlogwxlinks-theghostpainter.···pot.com/ Why is it that people who never pay attention to the weather are always the first to complain.

| TONIGHTS STORM:
Tonights storm is building as I type and should be into the LA basin a little after sunset. rainfall amounts will be 1/4 to 3/4 in the LA basin, 1/2 to 1 1/2 in OC, 2 inches along the west facing slopes and snow level will down to 1,000 feet all MT areas. So expect the passes to be closed tomorrow morning again, just in time for drive time.
More updates as the storm develops. |

Along the slopes of the mountains we are supposed to get another 2 to 4 inches of rain. In the Inland Empire Valleys, you can expect another 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches. Snow level for tomorrow is still very low averaging 2,000 to 1100 feet in all upper valley areas, the northern deserts and the Yucca, and Morongo Valley along highway 62. -- »www.insidetheie.com/ »earthlogii.blogspot.com/ »vietaffairsvets.blogspot.com/ »earthlogwxlinks-theghostpainter.···pot.com/ Why is it that people who never pay attention to the weather are always the first to complain.

I went up Monday and never made it the lifts, as I didn't arrive at Summit until 4pm to pick up my pass. 330 closed becasue of an accident, so went up 18 and had to sit behind a bunch of slow drivers and stuck vehicles. Ruined my whole day.
Went back yesterday and had to drive around the lake because a truck was stuck just passed the bridge, but got my riding in nonetheless. On the way home a tour bus got stuck in the same spot and we had to wait an hour while they tried to get it loose, even though there was room to let all the backed up cars by... -- "Independent thinkers tend to ALWAYS have someone not agreeing with them. TheRul You couldn't think of something? Premium join:2007-09-18 Victorville, CA | Luckily. But I am really worried about after dark. I have chains. I enjoy the adversity, but, I can't afford for the pass to close while I am at home. I need the money, and I can not work from home. |
