How would I go about having a song or video played once they turn on the notebook?
Any software to do this? I just need it to play once. |

1 edit | reply to ninjatutle You can use vlc for that or like this »www.winmatrix.com/forums/index.p···ic=18751
As for a song all you need to do is covert it to wav and change the system startup sound.
There is some freeware programs for the above like »dreamscene.org/download.php#xpscene -- Are you part of the cattle? |

| Seems like overkill.
Just add the mp3 file to C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup (the folder called "startup" in your start menu)
You will have to delete it afterwards, but that's easier than changing system sounds or messing with scheduled tasks. -- SBKRadio | dslr tools

The wav could be overkill but no popups and plays in the background and with my way you could even do it in html and as far as the video you have to do it in one of the ways I suggested if your using xp since most people hate vista. -- Are you part of the cattle? |

| Too late now, I just sent out the laptop for them to receive by Christmas. A shortcut to a playlist. The Drifter's "White Christmas" will play followed by The Chipmunk Song.
I forgot to make the WMP11 start in Skin "mini mode" though. Having a giant popup when you start the machine isnt so nice. Oh well. |

If not I guess they will be giving you a call to find out how to keep those dang songs from playing every time they turn it on. |

I named the playlist: "X remove X" |

| I have done it before using html and made it schedule to delete after the first reboot only problem is we are not allowed to upload to this forum like we used to with an old index.dat cleaner (I uploaded) way before ccleaner was even made.
Can you tell I been around awhile.... -- Are you part of the cattle? |
