My Wishlist For Obama

1. Please go back to Kenya.
2. If you decide to fight pirates, look to the seven seas first.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court has turned down an emergency appeal from a New Jersey man who says President-elect Barack Obama is ineligible to be president because he was a British subject at birth.

The court did not comment on its order today rejecting the call by Leo Donofrio of East Brunswick, N.J., to intervene in the presidential election.

If that's not enough for you to put down the green Kool-aid, I don't know what is.

And they just keep on coming,

quote:
December 8, 2008
Wrotnowski v. Bysiewicz "natural born citizen" case referred to full court by Justice Scalia (about Obama's foreign father)
By Arlen Williams

Justice Scalia, by referring Wrotnowski v. Bysiewicz to committee on Dec. 12 may allow the Supreme Court to decide upon Barack Obama's status as a presidential candidate before the currently scheduled Electoral College election day, December 15.

This case is essentially similar to the case of Leo Donofrio, who assisted Connecticut lawyer, Cort Wrotnoski, in drafting it. According to Donofrio, the basis is very much the same (not essentially about the birth certificate, but regarding a foreign father) and it includes additional corroborative research and/or reasoning. Also, the history of this case is less problematic for the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) than the Donofrio case, due to a suspicious misfiling of the latter case by a New Jersey judge which may have provoked a question of standing before the Supreme Court.

I don't understand why Obama doesn't just release his birth certificate and put this controversy to rest. The more he stonewalls the more doubt he creates.

Personally I think it is a matter of accountability. This sort of thing should not even be in doubt. I see it as one of those "it takes 5 minutes to shut them up" sort of deals that could go away quickly.

Personally, I believe Obama was indeed born in Hawaii so there's no issue, but I don't understand why he doesn't simply say "Here you idiots, I was born in Hawaii, so STFU."

He already did.

They immediately screamed "Fake, must be photoshopped."

It's like the 9/11 "Towers were brought down by CIA Bombs" guys. No matter what the facts are, the evidence, they just refuse to accept it.

Slam dunk!

I get tired of hearing about it too. Especially since his opponent at the time McCain couldn't come up with any birth certificate because *he really was born in another country* called Panama. The place that he was born lost or never had the records that reporters and others were searching for at the time. He was naturalized by his American parents, which is fair enough I guess.

But anyway, I've seen more than just the frontal picture, there are plenty of reporters who posted up front, back, side, in the light shots when they all had a look at it and the number that is blacked out, technically doesn't matter, but at the time they wanted to be careful.

Some people though, even in light of evidence, still won't believe because then they claim it's fake/conspiracy/insert lame excuse/etc. I just ignore those people, it doesn't matter anymore to me to prove a point.

Here's how you become a US Citizen. It's very simple.

#1: Be born on US Soil (or an embassy, or whatnot)
#2: Have A (one) parent who is a US citizen
#3: Take the test, and become a naturalized citizen
#4: Be born on a US departing aircraft (The aircraft is considered american until it touches down)

Let's see. Obama was BORN in Hawaii, to a US CITIZEN mother. I'm guessing he's an American.

My objection to the other link was that the certificate number had been redacted.

However, another website did show the certificate number. I believe that if that had been a phony, it would have been proven by now.

For me, the former image created more questions than answers.

I guess if we follow this logic, we could consider the issue of Bush stealing the Florida election in 2000 to be settled too, correct?

Obama may or may not be an American citizen, but his stated principles and politics are the polar opposite of the those the United States was founded on—so he can go bugger himself no matter where he was born.

That's up for debate. While he did release a copy to the media, he did not make it a public record. I don't think you can submit a FOIA request to receive this document.

Most of the time, politicians will make vital and medical records public. While no law compels Obama to do the same, I don't think the birth certificate controversy will go away until he does.
