4 edits | Directions For Connecting Without VZ Access Manager (2nd)
There was a Post made in August, 2008 outlining how to connect without using VZAccess Manager. It was to old for me to post a Reply, so I wanted to say that it worked for me with Vista, but took some messing with it. I made the change because VZAccess Manager appeared to be fouling up my pre-existing Wireless Connection to my Office Network requiring me to reset it anytime after VZAccess Manager had been run. I tried not including VZAccess Manager in the Windows Start-Up, but that did not seem to work either.
At any rate, this is what I did to get it to work:
- I uninstalled VZAccess Manager
- Deleted the Verizon Broadband connection by clicking Start, Network, Network and Sharing Center, Manage Network Connections, then Delete the Verizon Broadband Connection
- Reboot
- Click Start, Network, Network and Sharing Center (top), Set-Up a connection or network (left), Set up a dial-up connection (bottom)
- use "#777" for the Phone Number, User Name (leave blank), Password (leave blank) , change Connection name to something you prefer (I used Verizon Broadband) and click connect.
- Don't surf the net, go back after it test, to Network Connections menu, Right Click your Verizon Broadband connection, click Properties, Options tab, uncheck the boxes "Prompt for name and Password" and "Prompt for phone number", Click OK |
