I would estimate you'd get more like 2-3 mbps on average.

On a separate note, I just got off the phone with the local BR COX supervisor, and he didn't know jack squat. I told him that Cox is taking their time because they have no competition here, and he responded "nuh uh, AT&T DSL is there" and I said "no, not in my area".

So I asked to speak with someone who WOULD be able to confirm some kind of plan to split nodes or implement D3 or SOMETHING, and he basically had no idea who to contact. So I asked who he reports to, he said his office manager. I get the feeling that the tech support office is a semi- outsourced band of computer technicians who don't really do much but schedule appointments and do individual troubleshooting. They have no part in the infrastructure of the whole area.

Which means, quite frankly, we're screwed until Cox gets a little real competition here. Til then, they could care less about all of us.
