Re: How best to use Norton Insight in NIS 2009 Norton Insight Compares the files on your computer to a known trusted list maintained by Symantec. The files listed as untrusted on your machine are sent to symantec and in time they will check them,
I recommend refreshing your Norton Insight once a week.
When i used NIS i found the 1st 2 weeks i used it 72% of the files on my machine were trusted...I ran Norton INsight 2 weeks later and 81% of the files were trusted.
Just run it frequently to update the Norton Insight. Just because a file isn't trusted does not mean it is bad.
For exmaple, last time i used it, it label a file from ATI's Driver suite as Untrusted, this may be corrected now, but the best thing to do is Google the files in question to get an opinion about them. |
