That's what games look like (via OTA ATSC) on my standard def TV. Doesn't exactly inspire me to run out and buy a new Hi-Def TV.

You're doing it wrong. HD digital channels broadcast over the air look quite clear to me.

I'll have to lightup my ClearQAM tuner for the next FOX game and see if it looks any better "Live" via Comcast cable.

Maybe I'm just outrageously spoiled from watching Blu-ray or something... this NFL offering looks like shit!
Sure not going to pay for this crap quality video.

My point is that I think it's either the video feed from the stadium or the re-trans to/from the local station that compresses the hell out of the picture to the point where the details are lost &/or artifacts are visible. And it looks even worse after the cable/DBS companies get through with it.

I hope you get written consent from the NFL to post those pictures..

NFL.com is just as bad, I couldn't believe it. Wish they wouldn't go after youtube videos either.

You can't make all the people happy all of the time. But it should be common sense to shoot for the majority.

ALL "HD" content on the internet is like that. It's no worse than any othe "HD" content on the net. Sites like Hulu and ABC.com and others that have "HD" programming only stream at 2-2.5 Mbps max. Which isn't even really SD let alone HD if you want to be technical. True HD would have to be streamed at 8 Mbps minimum and first of all most people don't have connections that fast. Secondly no one is going out the expense to stream content at that bitrate.

Looks fine. I'm sure the quality will improve. MLB.tv started out with 300 kbps streams. Now they are up to 1.2 Mbps. $20 for a a season is just over a $1 per game if I onl watch my Bucs play which is really the only reason why I would want this product. That's not bad. If they offer the game very quickly after it's over I may be interested. because I'd rather not know the outcome before I start watching.

At the end of the day hopefully this is a sign that the NFL will offer live games online in the near future like every other sports league does. Not everyone wants to or can go with DirecTv.
