ceramic telecom fuse
this is a different version of the modems that stopped working the modems that stopped has a ceramic telecom fuse
I have replaced the fuse then it was fine onece before
the picture is a version 5 modem the version 3 has this type of fuse.

the inside wireing was replaced have a dsl splitter installed in basement. I don't have any noise on any of the phones.
It just affects the internet only

 If you are popping the fuse in the DSL Modem on the phone line connection then you have spikes hitting your line. If the fuse is popping on the power side, then you have bad or dirty power and should put the DSL Modem behind a Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS).

 modem and router are on a APC
the fuse keeps popping on the phone line side of modem
the modem powers up fine except it will not sync up to the dsl network at all until i replace the fuse. I do have a newer network interface box outside that is grounded to the outside faucet.

 I'd sure re-check the ground and make 100% sure it tests as grounded and not as an open circuit. There is an epidemic of installs that are truly not grounded.
