| MLPPP x2 ADSL Lines on Routerboard RB450
Hey Guys, I've been using mlppp on the new routerboard 450 for just under a month now... Very stable and easy to use. Here is my results from speedtest.net
If anyone has questions regarding configuration let me know I'm open to help as much as I can. I know there has been a lot of unanswered questions on the Forum regarding configuration.

| Awesome results!
How does the CPU handle on the 450 with that? I've tried a few different routerboards but the 450 I haven't yet tried for MLPPP.
Are you doing your own MTU/MSS adjustments or just letting MT do it automatically?
Also what version are you running? 3.17? -- Justin - DSLR resident grouch and Mr Negativity TSI Fanboy - "Dontchya wish your 'net was hot like mine! Ohhh Dontchya!" Have a nice day! |

| Pretty much all MLPPP bonding works the same way in the same place. Without getting too technical, it's done in software by the PPP daemon (client).
If he's using a RouterBoard RB-450, chances are he's using MicroTik, which has native support for MLPPP. MicroTik is a routing OS designed by the people making the RouterBoards. There are some shortcomings with their implementation, though, which causes it to take far longer to connect multiple lines than it should. |

Thanks a bunch! |

1 edit | reply to jcmh If you want simplicity, something that can run Tomato/MLPPP (such as the WRT54GL). However, before purchasing, make absolutely certain that your ISP uses PPPoE and supports MLPPP. Most ISPs that use PPPoE do NOT support MLPPP. It is specifically required that your ISP's routers support it, and that they configure and enable it on their end. |

| reply to kewlkeed CPU handles awesome... Average between 4-8% and around 30% while doing the speed test.
Version is the one out of the box, 3.10. and Adjustments are all set to Auto.
Using DMT on Speadstream modems I'm averaging about 6mb down and 810k up. Although it does say I'm getting 6 of a possible 11mb and only syncing at 57%... I thought that was kind of weird. |

1 edit | Our guess is that MicroTik's connection logic is flawed, that they connect all three lines, see if they're all on the same endpoint, and retry them all if not. Our approach is to connect one line, note the endpoint, then retry individual lines independently to get them on the same endpoint. Our way is obviously exponentially faster! We may also be making an announcement about a new project of ours tonight that will let more people benefit from our method... |

| reply to jcmh said by jcmh :Version is the one out of the box, 3.10. and Adjustments are all set to Auto. Expect problems with 3.10, specifically the 'small packet' bug. Suggest you upgrade to 3.16 or 3.17 where the bug is fixed.

| reply to jcmh I believe 3.17 does the proper logic now (Probably earlier as well).
Only problem I notice is when kicking the stack sometimes that some lines simply don't go anywhere even when trying to auth and I think this may be due to Bell blocking so many attempts in a short time span. If it's a fresh "startup" I can get 5 links in about 3-4minutes if I'm having a good day. |
