 | reply to piggygirl Everything is correctly set on the panel.
No voicemails are being registered on the panel, nor is it going to the email address. It was working last weekend, all of a sudden it's not.
I've submitted a ticket for it. |

I was able to call in and leave a test message for you without any issues. It's showing up in your vPanel.
We'll update the ticket and see if we find anything else, but we can't reproduce this issue and have had no other reports of any voicemail issues this weekend, so we're limited in what we can do. |

| You're incoming msg got recorded to the inbox of voicemail.
The incoming messages that aren't going to the inbox of voicemail are from area code 845. 1 is a voip, 1 is a cellphone.
Both of the above numbers worked fine with voicemail last weekend.
Thanks for your help on this VoipoTim |

Our voicemail messages are stored on Network Storage Devices so multiple voicemail servers can access them easily.
In this case, there apparently was a very small amount of latency between the server in question and the NAS today. It was just a few milliseconds so barely noticeable.
The voicemail system checks every message immediately after its recorded to make sure it's not silent and meets a minimum length (in case of a hang up). This tiny amount of latency today was basically having it check it before the message was fully saved. So then it marked it as silent and removed it.
So really the silence detection was happening right before the message was fully saved.
Since the latency wasn't consistently there, this is apparently why it was happening on some messages today, but not all (like my test one).
We've made a few changes to the timing of the detection which should prevent this from happening again. |

 | Problem solved and again working great.
Thank you very much for the great service VOIPoTim. |

 | reply to VOIPoTim I apparently had the same issue yesterday as well. Someone left a voice mail for me at approx 12:15 pm EST. The call shows up in my incoming calls, but I never received a voicemail, nor does it show up anywhere as a voicemail in the vpanel.
This is of concern to me as VOIPO does not have simultaneous ring and therefore have to rely on voicemail for important calls that may be missed. And yes, I do forward calls to my cell if I'm going to be gone for more than a few hours, but that in of it self gets to be a pain. The reason I'm concerned is I have elderly parents.
I'm glad to hear that you think that you have it fixed. |

Perhaps voip is not the best option if you are concerned about missing very important calls. Give your elderly parents your cell number only. Or keep a POTS line for emergencies. |

 | Thanks for the thoughts.
I've had VOIP for 4 years and not had many problems. I think simultaneous ring was one reason for this. Although I've had more problems with VOIPO set up than with any of the other providers I have been with, their customer support is first rate and the quality of their phone calls are superb as well. As long as the provider has a fail over number system in case of a power outage (which VOIPO has) I think think/hope these glitches will get worked out. At least I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for a short while.
And yes, they do have my cell number, but can't seem to remember that I now have a separate cell number. It's no longer one number reaches me everywhere! |

 | This is where simultaneous ring is very useful. I am spoiled by this feature. |
|
 | I believe Tim stated in another thread that simul ring is in testing and coming shortly. |
|
 | reply to piggygirl Hey Tim... I am more than willing to help you guys test simultaneous ring if need be. I think that is the only feature that I am missing now that VOIPO doesn't provide. Everything else including audio quality seems to be perfect. |
|
 | reply to slow mo Wow! Thanks guys....I thought I was the only one who missed simultaneous ring
It would be most helpful if that was a feature and I would be more than willing to test it out. |
