| Charter Good and Bad I have Charter video and internet in Newport, Oregon and our experience has been interesting and overall better than satisfactory. The local staff are outstanding: friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. The online and telephone people are among the worst in the world. They even make Cox look good.
Internet service has been fast and reliable. Speeds have remained consistent at the high end of the purchased tier. Yes some occasional slowing, but not bigtime or for long.
Video at the basic level is fine. We started with HD but dropped it because quality was poor and offerings were few. It might have been the box they gave us, but when I connected directly to the TV antenna input we were satisfied with quality and the network stations were much better.
If they sell off any parts I hope it isn't us as Comcast, logical purchaser, is such a shitty organization.
