 | [ Express] SMC8014W-G login details? I'm using the wireless modem/router from Rogers, and I know the default login for a customer is:
username: cusadmin password: password
But, this does not give you all the configuration options as the "real" admin would get. The login details in the manual do not work.
I want to change the crappy Rogers DNS to OpenDNS, and I am not able to do it using cusadmin//password |

| Set the DNS on your systems ... that will eliminate DNS relaying through the router altogether. As it is, your system makes a DNS request from your router, and your router in turn makes a DNS request from Rogers. If you put the DNS in your systems, then you directly make a DNS request. |

 | Default SSID (network name/ ID) is WLAN. You should have no problem to see it for it be the strongest WiFi signal visible around.

 | reply to sunnyb89 i have the same modem and i was wondering if any one knew the real admins login details?????????????????????????? |

 | reply to sunnyb89 I'm using the same modem from Rogers.
The technician turned the signal on and dropped off the modem. I have a fully functioning wireless signal called the default WLAN. I want to secure it.
I'm at the 192.168.0.1 login page, but I have no USERNAME or PASSWORD for the modem. What is the default for this modem?
I tried cusadmin/password like somebody above suggested, but it's invalid. Everything I have tried is invalid.
Help? |

Support for the SMC8014W-G Broadband Gateway when used as part of Rogers Home Networking Service.

 | reply to sunnyb89 The manual says
Username: mso Password: msopassword
...but that didn't work for me. This one did work though:
Username: mso Password: cxf1rst!
It worked after a hard reset and out of the box too. |

I would like to configure it to what i know works best..
I would also like to change the DNS from my ISPs crappy DNS to 4.2.2.2 (Which is much better -- Might load pages faster)
All passwords listed here dont work.... How do you reset it?? (JUST THE PASSWORD (OR HOW WOULD I ENTER SAY 4.2.2.2 IN MY COMPUTER??))
Right now for DNS server,it has its own IP listed which is BS!!

 | You can't reset JUST the password if you've forgotten or don't know. You'd have to do a hard reset which is holding the reset button down for 10 seconds (I think it was that long).
But this will erase everything and restore your device to factory defaults. After you do that, both of the default logins should work. I'd recommend securing your router's Wireless and other settings afterward.
I don't know about the DNS, but there's probably a setting in there somewhere. Don't know because I set mine up to be a bridge/modem. |
